MOTORBIKE'S, Page two
Another bike I had was an 1100 Interstate Goldwing, no where as sophisticated as the Aspencade SEi, but still not a bad bike, it had more lights on it than a Christmas tree, and then some !, and no ? I was not the one that fitted them all on, they came with the bike, it had a tow bar on but I used to hate towing with the thing, to my way of thinking, if I was going to have a trailer, then I may as well take the car and have done with it !! however, we sure did cover some miles on that thing, every opportunity we had we used to have a trip to the coast, and as we were at that time living some 80 odd miles from the nearest coast, a round trip after work was a neat thing to do ?? I think the only time I felt ashamed of riding it ? was when we had a ride to London and spent the evening at Chelsea Bridge with all the other bikers, BOY !!! did I take some stick then, it would have been nice if the ground had opened up and swallowed me at times, NOT the place to go on a Goldwing Hi, but it was great fun there even if we did have to queue half the night just to get a hot dog ? the picture below is of the Black "Wing"
Picture deleted, my wife has buggered off with another guy, and I do not want any picture of her on the web site |
In 1997 I had my first trip to ASSEN in Holland, to watch the world superbike race, with my two sons, Dean & Paul, and also some of their friends, In the picture below we had just arrived under the Assen entrance after a long but fun trip from England, .................

for this trip I used the Honda CBR 600 which is in the picture below, and both Dean & Paul used their bike which were the "Kwack" ZX-6-R, nice bikes ! the other bikes that went ranged from a Fireblade, Kwack, CBR, and I cant remember the others ?? but in total, there were eight of us on the trip, and it was a trip that was well worth doing, with some good riding, good company, and good racing,

I know the "Jelly Mould" CBR is getting a bit dated now ? but it is still a dammed good bike, I had a round trip of some 890miles, and other than needing to have the chain adjusted in Assen, it was faultless, it cruised happily at 90 + !!! was comfortable, sure footed, and most important of all, it kept up with the others with no problems at all, if you are looking for a bike, then you would not go far wrong in getting one of these, and with the prices as they are at the moment, then there are a lot of very good buys out there ? a Little tip though, if you look at the bike, then you will see a "Ride" sticker on the side, I had to put that there to hide the marks that the "bungee" straps made on the trip to Assen, so if you use bungee straps, then protect the paintwork !!
HAVE YOU EVER BEEN TO CADWELL PARK RACE CIRCUIT ?
NO, THEN GO.
The Circuit Nestles on top of the Lincolnshire Wolds, with some really fantastic roads leading to it, the track is hard and challenging, so there is always plenty of action to see, and with a good "cafe" and bar, you wont go hungry, or even better still, why not have a go on a day of action with the YAMAHA race school, my son Paul was treated to a day at the race school by his Wife Claudia, and now he can get the coveted "scratch" on his knee sliders, (I still have to use the file !!) their telephone Number is ....01507-343519 I keep trying to get my wife Catherine to have a go but she thinks it might be a bit silly on her bike ?? so I thought I would let you have a look at her, do YOU think she would look daft whizzing round the track ??
